So i plugged the nano back into the PC and did a restore for the nano and ever since that my itunes refuse to show the nano on the source list. I have this problem before but this time nothing seems to can start a new one? (Note: it shows up on the my computer page though) I have tried reinstalling itunes, restarting the ipod, restarting countless of times and trying some of the methods that are on the apple webiste but to no avail. Be sure to back up the i Phone, i Pad, or i Pod touch before attempting to install i OS 8.4.1, this insures you won’t lose data in the odd event something goes wrong with the update process. The simplest way to download and install the i OS 8.4.1 update is through the OTA mechanism on the device.Additionally, some notable security updates are included in the i OS 8.4.1 release, making it a recommended update for users.i OS devices require at least 550MB of free space available to install the small software update.i OS is obviously going in the direction of not needing i Tunes at all, but in the meantime you still need to sync an i Phone, i Pad, or i Pod touch to copy over music libraries, videos, media, perform local backups, apps, and more.
We’ll let you know as soon as we get any more information.
Before trying anything else, be sure you have the newest version of i Tunes on the computer. Sometimes just updating to the newest version of i Tunes is enough to resolve all syncing problems, particularly if the desktop software hasn’t been updated in a while.
You can always download the newest version of i Tunes directly from Apple by clicking here. Simply quit out of i Tunes, then relaunch the app, and try syncing again.
I called Support and they had me uninstall/ reinstall i Tunes, update my Powerbook G3 System X, reboot the i Pod. The guy said I'd have to erase my i Pod and restore it to factory settings to see if that worked. anybody having this problem can check their window whether its 64-bit or 32 bit. If the driver is working properly, you'll see ipod listed under "Disk Drives" as "Apple i Pod USB Device", and you'll see the i Pod driver listed under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" as "USB Mass Storage Device". it used to work with itunes but now it wont even show up when i look at the screen it has the large battery charging icon on the screen but when i hold down menu and center button all i get is the apple icon and then it goes away and i get a smaller battery charge icon so thats all that it does.
But of course, I would then lose all the music that's not on my harddrive! if they are running 64 bit and then they have to install 64 bit itunes software after removing the whole itunes software.please reply me if u need any further assistance. If either of these are not working properly, you should see a yellow icon with an exclamation point on it. To correct a defective driver, right-click on it, and select "Update Driver". my problem is obviously different from other peoples and im hoping u could help me with it but if not im concidering getting somethin else instead of apples products if so many of them have these issues.
It goes without saying that jailbreakers should avoid upgrading to i OS 8.4.1.
